Summary
What makes Ohio State University-Main Campus unique?

Founded in 1870, the Ohio State University, often referred to as Ohio State, is a public institution with a total enrollment of just over 65,000 students. Ohio State is located along the Olentangy River in urban Columbus, Ohio, and covers over 1,500 acres of academic buildings, a massive athletic complex, and an award-winning medical school. Students at Ohio State take classes on a semester-based academic calendar, and Ohio residents enjoy access to in-state tuition rates. The Ohio State tends to offer larger classes given the size of the student body, which is heavily influenced by their 19:1 student-faculty ratio.

Ohio State has a variety of student organizations and clubs to choose from, including an active student government, a large gym at the Mary A Daniels Student Wellness Center, and a successful honors program for qualifying applicants. Some notable colleges at Ohio State include the Moritz College of Law and the Max M Fisher College of Business.

Ohio State is known for its successful Buckeye football program that plays in the iconic Ohio Stadium which hosts over 100,000 attendees during Saturday game days. When they aren’t studying or in class, students at Ohio State can enjoy everything Columbus has to offer including restaurants, bars, and the Ohio State Fair. Notable alumni include writer R.L. Stine, singer Dwight Yoakam, and golfer Jack Nicklaus.
