According to the Washington Post, business degrees are one of the most popular undergraduate and graduate degrees available to students. Business degrees account for one in five bachelor’s degrees awarded each year.
While not all scholarships are relevant to specific degrees, the following scholarships cater to business students. Requirements for each of the scholarships is very specific, and it is important to make sure you meet all of the requirements prior to applying. General requirements usually include:

Business Scholarships Worth $3500 or More
1. Louis Galambos National Fellowship in Business & Politics
This Louis Galambos Fellowship is awarded by the non-profit Hagley Museum and Library. It awards a $25,000 scholarship to an individual who is working on a dissertation from the Library’s research material. The individual will participate in conferences and is expected to hold “residence” at the library for the academic year.
2. UNCF/Best Buy Scholars Program
Hosted by the United Negro College Fund, the Best Buy Scholars program offers multiple scholarships to low-income minority students with significant financial needs who are majoring in careers in the consumer electronics retail industry. Worth $20,000, these scholarships can come in a variety of monetary denominations.
3. NEH-Hagley Fellowship on Business, Culture, and Society
Here is another fellowship offered by the Hagley Museum and Library. This fellowship supports residencies at the Hagley Library in Wilmington, Delaware for junior and senior scholars whose projects make use of Hagley’s substantial research collections. Fellowships may be four to twelve months in length and will provide a monthly stipend of $5,000 and complimentary lodging in housing on Hagley’s property.
4. McKnight Doctoral Fellowship Program
The Florida Education Fund supports business students with up to 50 fellowships awarded annually to study at one of nine participating Florida universities. Each award provides annual tuition up to $5,000 for each of three academic years, plus an annual stipend of $12,000. These fellowships are for African-American and Hispanic students pursuing their PhD in one of the following:
- Arts and sciences
- Business
- Engineering
- Health sciences
- Nursing
- Visual and performing arts
5. Goldberg-Miller Public Finance Scholarship
This one-time, $15,000 award is given to a full-time student in a graduate program for students interested in careers in state and local government finances by the Government Finance Officers Association. The is open to citizens or permanent residents of the United States or Canada.
6. Minorities in Government Finance Scholarship
This scholarship is also awarded by the Government Finance Officers Association and focuses on undergraduate or graduate students of public administration, governmental accounting, finance, political science, economics, or business administration to recognize outstanding performance by minority students preparing for a career in state and local government finance.
7. Government Finance Professional Development Scholarship
Here’s one last scholarship awarded by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada. This $10,000 is available to a part-time graduate student in public administration, (governmental) accounting, finance, economics, or business administration that prepares students for careers in state and local government finance. Recipients must not have been a past winner of a GFOA scholarship.
8. Shelving.com Business Scholarship
This scholarship offers three prizes ranging from $1000-$1500 to any currently-enrolled student taking a business-related line of study.
9. Michael J. Barrett Doctoral Dissertation Award
This $10,000 scholarship is given to students studying internal audits. Awarded by the Internal Audit Foundation, this scholarship is limited to doctoral students.
10. Accenture American Indian Scholarship
This $10,000 scholarship is granted by the American Indian Graduate Center to American Indian and Alaska Native students from U.S. federally recognized tribes. This scholarship is limited to first year undergraduate college freshmen with a GPA of at least 3.25 and demonstrates strong financial need. Furthermore, students must be studying in one of the following areas:
- Engineering
- Computer science
- Operations management
- Finance
- Marketing and business
11. FACC Foundation Serge Bellanger International Business Degree Scholarship Program
In 2012, the French-American Chamber of Commerce Foundation was founded to sponsor the training and education of transatlantic business leaders. The foundation awards multiple merit based scholarships worth at least $10,000 to French students seeking to pursue an MBA in the U.S. and to American students who wish to pursue an MBA, a master’s degree, or a mastère specialisé in a business-related discipline in France.
12. Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago Academic Scholarship Program
Sponsored by JVS Chicago, this scholarship is designed to help Jewish college and graduate students offset some of their financial burden. Applicants must be born and raised in the Chicago area and demonstrate a career in one of the following fields:
- Education-Jewish studies
- Medicine-audiologist
- Chiropractor
- Dental hygienist
- Dentist
- Doctor
- Geneticista
- Nurse

- Optometrist
- Pharmacist

13. American Association of University Women Selected Professions Fellowships
These AAUW fellowships are awarded to women pursuing full-time study in a master’s or professional degree program in which women are underrepresented, including STEM, law, business, and medicine.
14. Fukunaga Scholarship Foundation
The Fukunaga Scholarship Foundation awards this renewable scholarship to U.S. citizens pursuing an undergraduate degree in business. Individuals must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
15. FCCLA Texas Farm Bureau Scholarship
Each year, one $5,000 scholarship is awarded by the Texas Association Family, Career and Community Leaders of America to a leader in Texas who is majoring in family and consumer sciences.
16. Richard A. Freund International Scholarship
This scholarship is sponsored by ASQ and is a one-time, $5,000 award for graduate students with a minimum GPA of 3.25. Individuals must be studying in the theory and application of quality control, quality assurance, quality improvement, total quality management, applied math and sciences with an emphasis in quality.
17. Stuart Cameron and Margaret McLeod Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is sponsored by the Institute of Management Accountants and is a $5,000 scholarship for IMA undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a career in management accounting, financial management, or information technology. Students must have a GPA of at least 3.0 and be a full-time (minimum 12 credits per semester) student.
18. Jeffrey L. Esser Career Development Scholarship
This $5,000 scholarship is awarded to a part-time student pursuing an associate degree or bachelor’s degree one of the following fields with a career plan in state/provincial or local government finance:
- Public administration
- Governmental accounting
- Finance or business administration
Individuals must be employed for a minimum of three years by one or more state or local governments.
19. Jack and Jo Dammann National Scholarship
The American Welding Society offers this $5,000 scholarship to full-time undergraduate students pursuing a degree in one of the following:
- Engineering
- STEM
- Business degree with a marketing emphasis
Priority is given to students who are residents of Colorado with a minimum GPA of 2.7.
20. LAGRANT Foundation Scholarship for Graduates
The LAGRANT Foundation offers 20 graduate and doctoral scholarships to students of ethnic minorities in fields such as advertising, marketing, and public relations. Individuals are also offered mentorships and internships as well as attendance at career building and professional development conferences in New York City.
